Large Crowds Expected As Historic Relic Makes Stop In Fairfield County During National Tour Large crowds are expected as a historic relic makes a stop in the area as part of a national tour. The heart of St. John Vianney, Curé of Ars, France will visit the Parish of St. Catherine of Siena in Trumbull on Monday, April 29 and Tuesday, April 30, in the tour with the Knights of Columbus. St. John Vianney died on Aug. 4, 1859. His heart, which is normally kept for veneration at the Shrine of Ars in France, is said to be incorrupt. Beloved Owner Of Popular Restaurant In Fairfield County Dies The owner of a popular restaurant in Fairfield County has died. Monroe resident Rudolf H. "Rudy" Weiss best known for being the owner of Windmill Restaurant in Stratford for 40 years died Tuesday, April 23 after suffering a long time from Lewy Body Dementia. He was 83. Weiss' obituary said he was someone who always had a "joke and a smile" and was a complex problem solver. Cause Of Death Unknown For Rare, 7-Foot Black Dragon At Maritime Aquarium In Norwalk The staff of The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk is mourning the death of its Asian water monitor lizard, more commonly known as its black dragon. The 7-foot lizard died overnight Monday, April 22. “We’re always saddened by the death of any animal at the Aquarium, but the black dragon was appreciated as a very special creature by staff as well as by our guests,” said Barrett Christie, the Aquarium’s director of Animal Husbandry. Medford Man Nabbed For Committing Four Armed Robberies In 16-Day Span, Police Say Suffolk County Police have arrested a Medford man for allegedly committing four armed robberies during a 16-day span this month.
