Workers Worry About Paying Bills As Stop & Shop Strike Hits Day Six
Customers were not seen entering the Stop & Shop store at 44 Lake Ave. Ext. in Danbury, where about 15 store employees held signs and stood in the sunlight out front to stay warm on a breezy 50-degree morning Tuesday, April 16, day six of the workers' strike in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
One of the striking workers, Sabino Hernandez, confirmed this.

Stop & Shop Management, Union Continue Negotiations As Strike Reaches Fifth Day
Stop & Shop and the United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW) continued their negotiations Monday as 31,000 employees of the supermarket chain Ahold Delhaize USA continue to strike throughout New England, Supermarket News reports.
The negotiations continued Monday, April 15 after running through the weekend.
UFCW Locals 328, 371, 919, 1445 and 1459 walked off their jobs at over 240 Stop & Shop stores in New England April 11, said Supermarket News.
When the strike began on Thursday, April 11, many stores were forced to close and customers were instructed to leave.

Man Parked In His Medford Driveway Shot In Jaw, Police Say
A man was shot while sitting in a parked car at his Medford home.
Sixth Squad detectives are investigating the shooting in which the victim was reportedly sitting in a car at his residence on Wilson Avenue Monday, April 15 when an unidentified man approached the car on foot and fired one shot, striking the man in the jaw, according to Suffolk County Police.
The injured man, identified as Rondell Blue, then got out of his car and went inside the residence, police said.
