The Hop In Beacon Closed, Listed For Sale
BEACON, N.Y. -- The Hop that closed suddenly this week is listed for sale for $3.6 million, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal, citing a Berkshire Hathaway Home Services' website ad.Contrary accounts of the closing include a post on a deleted Facebook page that said it was "closed indefinitely," without citing a reason, while The Hop's website says, "The Hop is closed until further notice," the Journal noted.
The Hop bar served craft beer and food at 554 Main St., and opened in 2014, said the Poughkeepsie Journal report.

THIELLS, N.Y. -- From sweet and savory to Mexican-flavored, though mostly the Italian-style in tomato sauce variety, were meatball contenders in a recent North Rockland High School Italian Club contest.
The taste-testing for this Meatball Fundraiser took place on a recent Monday, after eighth period, a likely highlight before students, faculty and staff headed out for the day. The participants paid $5 at the door to taste and judge the entries.$5 at the door not $15
