Virtual Food Drive Helps Feed The Hungry In Greater Bridgeport BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A virtual food drive to feed hungry residents of Greater Bridgeport is underway throughout October.The Food Access program feeds 40 pantries and soup kitchens in its Hunger Outreach Network, stocking the shelves with healthy food throughout the fall and early winter.  The program needs to raise $25,000 by Nov. 1 in order to carry out its mission through the end of the year. Amenia, Dover Land Will Be Part Of Wildlife Refuge DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- An acquisition of Amenia and Dover land from their owners will become part of a Dutchess County federal wildlife refuge, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.The 1,500 acres of lands will be acquired voluntarily, government officials told the newspaper. The plan responds to the lessening of shrublands that are now forests due to growth, said the Poughkeepsie Journal.
