Tax Cut, Outside Ambulances Included In Arlington Fire District Proposal POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Arlington Fire District has proposed to cut taxes slightly in next year's budget as it absorbs state imposed increases it cannot control, according to Fire Commissioner Jim Beretta, the Poughkeepsie Journal reports. The reductions stem from a new agreed upon contract between the district and the Arlington Professional Firefighters Association, said the report.  A switch of health-care plans has been agreed upon in the proposal, Beretta told the newspaper.
