Two Shootings Sunday In Bridgeport Leave Three Injured
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Two Sunday morning shootings in Bridgeport left three people with injuries, according to the Connecticut Post.A Barnum Avenue shooting at 1:48 a.m. involved a male victim shot in the arm, according to the report. He had surgery at Bridgeport Hospital, and his survival is likely, a police spokesman told the Connecticut Post. An unidentified male shooter in a black jacket shot the victim and likely fled in a Honda, according to witnesses, the Connecticut Post reported. Peekskill High School Students Talk Peace At UN
PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Students from Peekskill High School visited the United Nations for its International Day of Peace last month.Before going, the group had developed projects describing one of the U.N.'s sustainable development programs. The visit included speeches by celebrities, Nobel Peace Laureates, and student presenters on how to create a sustainable environment that could lead to lasting peace. No One Eats Alone At Sleepy Hollow Middle School
SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- Last week students at Sleepy Hollow Middle School made sure nobody was left alone in the cafeteria at lunch periods.Aptly named "No One Eats Alone Day," the Oct. 5 initiative called on kids to make sure everyone is included at lunch and students sit with new friends and classmates. The day was sponsored by nonprofit Beyond Differences which carried messages, that kids are valued and accepted by their peers.
