Katonah Consignment Shop Owner Sentenced For Not Paying Taxes KATONAH, N.Y. -- The owner of a Katonah consignment business has been sentenced for failure to pay New York State taxes, according to an announcement by Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty. Barry Shevit, 68, was sentenced to five years probation after previously pleading guilty to one count of repeated failure to file personal returns, a class “E” felony.  The tax fraud came to light during an investigation by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office into the defendant’s consignment business, the acting district attorney said.
