NYC 'High Line' Inspires Idea For Pelham RR Bridge PELHAM, N.Y. -- Deputy Mayor Susan Mutti drew inspiration recently from attending a book singing of the creators of High Line Park in Manhattan for a similar greenway in Pelham, according to lohud.com.A sensible spot would be a railroad bridge over Highbrook Avenue that was built in 1911 and not used since 1942, said the report. Stamford Police Capture Alleged Muggers Who Fled On Bikes STAMFORD, Conn. -- Two city men were charged in a Tuesday morning mugging of a man who was staying in a Stamford hotel and had gone out to Main Street for cigarettes, according to The Stamford Advocate.The alleged robbery suspects were caught by a police officer who was at work on an overtime job directing traffic, said The Stamford Advocate. Katonah Consignment Shop Owner Sentenced For Not Paying Taxes KATONAH, N.Y. -- The owner of a Katonah consignment business has been sentenced for failure to pay New York State taxes, according to an announcement by Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty. Barry Shevit, 68, was sentenced to five years probation after previously pleading guilty to one count of repeated failure to file personal returns, a class “E” felony. The tax fraud came to light during an investigation by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office into the defendant’s consignment business, the acting district attorney said.
