Y. -- A 49-year-old Brooklyn man is facing charges after being caught by police with marijuana at the Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining.New York State Police arrested Terrence K. Jacobus, 49, of Brookyn after he brought marijuana into the prison Wednesday while there to visit an inmate, police said. He's been charged with second-degree misdemeanor of promoting prison contraband and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation., police said. He's due in Ossining Court at 9 a.m. Jan. 26. New York State Police were called in by the state's department of corrections.

Y. -- Officials from Hudson Highlands Land Trust in Garrison say they've been able to save 103 acres of natural area in the last year from development, according to lohud.com.The group added 33 acres near the Hudson River in Philipstown to 70 acres already protected through conservation.
