Man, 54, Arrested Following Fight With Store Clerk In Hillcrest
RAMAPO, N. Y. -- A 54-year-old man is facing a harassment charge after Ramapo police had to break up a fight between him and a store clerk at a convenience store in the Hillcrest area, police said.
The man is being held in Rockland County Jail pending a court appearance, police said, and he was ordered to stay away from the store.
Officers responded to calls for help twice Thursday from the store, police said. The second time, the clerk told police the man tried to punch him, police said.

Man, 37, Charged With DWI In Route 55 Stop In LaGrange
LA GRANGE, N.Y. -- A 37-year-old Verbank man is facing a felony DWI charge after New York State Police stopped his car along Route 55 Sunday in LaGrange after it swerved in traffic, police said.
Jason D. Billups, 37, is charged with the stronger Class E felony driving while intoxicated because police found a 2008 DWI-related conviction on his driving record, police said.
He's due in LaGrange court on Tuesday, March 15, to answer for the newest charge, police said.
West Point Faculty Member, 33, Found Dead In Atlantic City
WEST POINT, N.Y. -- U.S. Military Academy officials at West Point announced this week that one of their instructors, and an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran, was found dead Sunday in Atlantic City.Maj. Benjamin Recla, who was part of the West Point Flying Team, was off-duty at the time. West Point officials said the case is being investigated by Atlantic City police, but no foul play is suspected.
Recla, 33, was an instructor with the department of civil and mechanical engineering. He graduated from the academy in 2004 and previously served as a second lieutenant in the aviation branch.
