CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N. Y. -- Following news of a presumed drowning at Croton Point Park this week, the head of the Westchester County police association says county officials should hire more officers to help keep public parks safe, according to News 12. Modena Man Faces Sexual Abuse Charge
PLATTEKILL, N. Y. -- A 28-year-old Modena man is facing a felony first-degree sexual abuse charge after New York State Police say he touched a 10-year-old girl "inappropriately" in the town of Plattekill, according to a Poughkeepsie Journal report. Robert Newkirk is being held on $20,000 bond, or $10,000 cash, at Ulster County Jail after being charged Wednesday. He was arraigned in Plattekill Town Court, the Poughkeepsie Journal says. Police Search For Man Prompted Modified Lockdown At Old Greenwich School
GREENWICH, Conn. — A police search for a man who was fleeing a medical evaluation prompted a modified lockdown on Wednesday morning at Old Greenwich School, according to Greenwich Time.Officers combed the area for the man, who is known for erratic behavior but is not considered dangerous, Greenwich Time says.
