Rockland Pair Indicted On Charges In Bank Fraud Scheme
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N. Y. -- Two Rockland County men are facing criminal charges after officials linked them to a widespread scheme to defraud local banks in Rockland and Orange counties, as well as Bergen County, lohud.com reports.Lawrence Lazard, of Route 202 in Haverstraw, and Fabrice Stinfil, of George Street in Spring Valley, were indicted Thursday, June 9. Lazard faces 25 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, three counts of grand larceny while Stinfil faces grand larceny and criminal facilitation charges, lohud.com says.

Yonkers' Spreckman Steps Down From Westchester Board
YONKERS, N.Y. -- Westchester County lawmakers plan to meet soon to pick a date for a special election to replace Bernice Spreckman, a legislator representing parts of Yonkers and Mount Vernon, following her announcement Tuesday that she's stepping down, according to lohud.com.
Spreckman, 80, a Yonkers Republican, said the demands of the job have gotten too much for her. She's represented the county's 14th District for more than 20 years, lohud.com says.
