Irvington Students Learn How To Prevent Concussions
IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- A brain injury expert, who is also an Irvington parent, told fourth-graders at Main Street School that the top five sports for brain injuries are football, girls soccer, boys soccer, lacrosse and wrestling. But, Dr. Mark Herceg noted during his May 13 visit to the school, someone who doesn't participate in sports can still get a concussion.

Heroin Epidemic Hits Rye, Forum Organizers Say
RYE, N.Y. -- Organizers of a recent community forum on heroin and other opiates were surprised to learn that 82 percent of the people in the audience at Rye High School did not think their children were using the drugs, according to lohud.com."That statistic screamed out to me. It's a warning sign," said Steven Salomone, whose group, Drug Crisis in Our Backyard, helped organize the Wednesday public forum. Fairfield Police Connect Two Men To At Least 20 Car Burglaries
FAIRFIELD, CONN. -- Two men are facing burglary charges after Fairfield police said they caught up with them Tuesday morning and connected them to at least 20 car burglaries along Penfield Road in Fairfield.Tymel Luke Thompson, 22, was charged with third-degree burlgary, third-degree conspiracy to commit burglary, fourth-degree larceny, fourth-degree conspiracy and possession of burglary tools, police said.
