State Lawmakers Agree On Yonkers School Rebuild Plan YONKERS, N.Y. -- Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano said having the state agree to creating a new local authority to oversee the $2 billion reconstruction of Yonkers schools is a good first step in the long revitalization process, according to a lohud.com report.The state Senate passed the measure Thursday soon after it was approved by the Assembly Wednesday. It is expected that Gov. Andrew Cuomo will sign it, says lohud.com. Y. -- Yonkers police are investigating video footage that appears to show a man and woman breaking into four cars early Wednesday in a lot in the 400 block of Odell Avenue, according to News 12 Westchester.Residents said the couple parked their car in the lot while breaking into other cars, reported News 12 Westchester.
