Ridgefield Police Warn Motorists About Rash Of Car Break-Ins RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield police are reminding residents to keep their valuables out of their cars as officers investigated a rash of recent car break-ins in town.Police have received reports about a total of three car burglaries that occurred between July 17 and July 21. In all cases, a window was smashed to gain access to the car, police said. Pelham Volleyball Attends Penn State Volleyball Camp PELHAM, N.Y. -- Pelham High School volleyball coaches are looking forward to an exciting season as the varsity and junior varsity teams are fresh from a Penn State team volleyball camp earlier this month.Coaches Mark Finegan, Maribeth Albin and Elizabeth Milan attended the July 13-16 camp with 29 student athletes. Stratford Man, 73, Faces Sexual Assault Charge After Touching Incident STRATFORD, Conn. -- A 73-year-old Stratford man is facing a sexual assault charge after a female cashier at Home Depot in Stratford told police that he grabbed her backside and said "Hey Chickie" while walking through the checkout line on Monday, according to the CT Post. Robert Zanvettor, 73, of Whippoorwill Lane, was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault, and released pending an upcoming court date. Stamford Driver Cited After Pedestrian is Struck On Oak Street STAMFORD, CONN. -- A 49-year-old woman was cited by police for failing to yield to a pedestrian after police say her car hit a 29-year-old woman in the crosswalk on Oak Street, leaving the woman with injuries on the left side of her body, the Stamford Advocate reports.The victim was taken to Stamford Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the Stamford Advocate says. Firefighters Injured Battling Newburgh Building Blaze NEWBURGH, N. Y. -- Two firefighters were injured fighting a Tuesday evening three-alarm fire in an abandoned building in Newburgh, HVNN.com reports. Five-Car Crash Snarls Taconic Traffic Near Yorktown YORKTOWN, N. Y. -- An early-morning crash involving five cars on the Taconic State Parkway near Yorktown slowed down commuters Wednesday morning, according to lohud.com. Police, who were not sure about any injuries, were able to clear the traffic by about 9:20 a.m. following the 7:40 a.m. accident. Man Charged With DWI After High-Speed Chase On Taconic Parkway, I-84 EAST FISHKILL, N. Y. -- A 54-year-old man is facing aggravated driving while intoxicated, along with other charges, after leading New York State Police on a high-speed car chase Monday on the Taconic State Parkway in Dutchess County, state police said. Michael A. Lalli of New Milford, Conn., is charged with felony DWI and felony aggravated unlicensed operation after state police learned that his New York driving priviledges were revoked because of two prior DWI-related convictions, police said.
