Church's Christmas Tree Bonfire Benefits Weston Warmup Fund WESTON, Conn. — Weston's Emmanuel Episcopal Church held its annual Christmas Tree Bonfire on Saturday evening, with residents saying good-bye to the holiday season and proceeds benefiting Weston's Warmup Fund. People come by during the day and paid $25 to throw their tree into the pile. At 6 p.m., they reconvened and lit the bonfire, an event that has become an annual nondenominational town tradition.
