White Plains' Hudson Valley Pet Food Pantry Celebrates Anniversary WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The Hudson Valley Pet Food Pantry will throw a five-year anniversary celebration on Monday, Oct. 26 at the CV Rich Mansion in White Plains, reports The Examiner.The event will include food provided by Caperberry Events, wine, soft drinks and a great silent auction and raffle. Proceeds from the event will go toward the pantry’s “Help Feed Our Pets” program which enables the pantry to keep an adequate supply of pet food on hand, the story says. Monster Of A Book Fair Setting Up Shop At Ox Ridge School in Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- Ox Ridge Elementary School in Darien will be holding its annual book fair later this month — and it promises to be a monster of an event. It will be held on Monday, Oct. 26, from 8:30 a.m to 4 p.m.; Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mark your calendars for those dates and times. Brewster Veterans Get Help From Home Depot BREWSTER, N.Y. -- Seven or eight volunteers from the local Home Depot visited the Brewster Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 672 (VFW) on Wednesday to volunteer their time and resources to spruce up the local Post. They replaced a broken mailbox, replaced torn screens on the front porch and added gravel to a drainage area in the rear of the facility. Westlake Students, Singers, Scouts Honor Mount Pleasant War Veterans MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- The Westlake High School Service Club, Blendors choral group and Boy Scouts from Troop 1 were able to give back to Mount Pleasant veterans earlier this month at the 2015 Veterans Pancake Breakfast held at the Mount Pleasant Community Center. The event kicked off the Hudson Valley Thank a Veteran Tour to honor local veterans and thank them for their service.
