Wallington's Future Journalists Visit Rutgers
WALLINGTON, N.J. -- Wallington Public Schools' newspaper and yearbook editors attended the Garden State Press Association's Fall Press Day Conference at Rutgers University. The students had the opportunity to participate in a variety of workshops to strengthen their duties as leaders of each publication. Several students also had the opportunity to be interviewed by Mary Beth Tinker, a leader in student journalism who fought for First Amendment rights for students and teachers alike.

Police Discuss Identity Theft At Kent Public Library
KENT LAKES, N.Y. -- The Kent Public Library will have a discussion on how to protect yourself from identity theft from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday in Kent Lakes.A detective from the Kent Police Department will discuss different types of identity theft and provide information on how to protect yourself from being a victim. Haverstraw Man Sentenced In Child Sex Abuse Case
HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -- Rockland County District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe announced that Wilfredo Franco, 56, of Haverstraw was sentenced to 10 years in state prison with 10 years of post-release supervision for sexually abusing a young boy on numerous occasions over several years, beginning in 2006. "The defendant has admitted to preying on a young child for his own degenerate pleasure," Zugibe said. "The sexual nightmare that he inflicted on his victim destroyed his childhood innocence and scarred him emotionally for life. As such, the sentence is more than warranted." Fra…

The Hobart Trio consists of Kathleen Butler-Hopkins (violin), Joseph Kimura (cello) and Iris Perry (piano). The three musicians will present works by Hayden and Brahms.
