Meadow Pond Elementary School Forms 'Recycling Gives Back' Club
SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Eco-conscious students at Meadow Pond Elementary School in South Salem are making the Earth a little greener through the new group Recycling Matters this year. “[Recycling Matters] is comprised of fifth-grade students who want to help the Earth by keeping items out of the landfills and reusing them, while helping others at the same time,” said Lara Monasch, the group’s advisor. “This is accomplished by collecting different items each month that can be reused.” So far this year, students have collected more than 27 pounds of costumes to donate before Halloween to Katonah…

KATONAH, N.Y. -- The Harvey School’s athletic department recently announced seniors Julia Frisch and Rohan Cassells were selected as the school’s top student-athletes for the fall. Youth Science Day At Passaic County Community College
PATERSON, N.J. -- Passaic County Community College will host a youth science day on from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27 at the college's Academic Hall. Youth will participate in three hands-on science workshops that explore various science concepts. Topics will include engineering, physics, chemistry and more. WALDWICK, N.J. -- Warriors Lacrosse Association, which covers the towns of Waldwick and Midland, has opened registration for the spring 2016 season.This competitive program is open to boys and girls in the third through eighth grades and will run from March 1 through June. Kiana Washington Named New Principal Of RJ Bailey School
GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Kiana Washington was named the new principal of the RJ Bailey School on Tuesday night in a unanimous decision of the Board of Education. Washington, in accepting the position, noted that she never expected to become a principal. "I loved teaching, but then I realized that if I loved teaching, I would love being a principal who works with teachers," she said.
