Demarest Catholic School Presents 54th Annual Father/Daughter Dance
DEMAREST, N.J. -- The Academy of the Holy Angels in Demarest will offer its 54th annual Father/Daughter Mass & Dinner at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23 in the Student Commons.This event presents a special opportunity for the fathers to share an evening with their daughters in both a social and spiritual setting. WYCKOFF, N.J. -- The Wyckoff PTO is planning a coordinating council meeting from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Eisenhower Middle School.Parents and volunteers are welcome to assist in events and fundraising efforts. Watch Marvel's 'Ant-Man' At Ringwood Public Library
RINGWOOD, N.J. -- The Ringwood Public Library will host a movie screening of Marvel's "Ant-Man" at 4 p.m. Wednesday.The 2015 film stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man in Marvel's latest installment. BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. --- Every year, approximately 70 families from Congregation Sons of Israel in Briarcliff Manor participate in a festive Christmas meal for guests from the greater Ossining community.Dinner is served at noon on Christmas Day at the First Presbyterian Church at 34 South Highland Avenue, Ossining. People from the synagogue cook parts of the meal at home (turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes) and bring them to the Church in Ossining. PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The Peekskill Middle School Student Government recently hosted a food drive to benefit the Peekskill Family Resource Center.The group's goal was to collect 100 cans, but students surpassed that goal by collecting 525 cans in total. GREENWICH, Conn. -- Students from Greenwich High School have advanced to the Top 32 round of the International Policy Forum.Sponsored by the Brewer Foundation and New York University, the IPPF is the first and only debate competition that gives high school students around the world the opportunity to engage in written and oral debates on issues of public policy. Man Charged With Felony DWI In Route 9 Stop
PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Tarrytown resident Edison Zhinin, 35, for driving while intoxicated (a Class E Felony) on Saturday.Zhinin was stopped by police on State Route 9 in Peekskill for failing to maintain his designated lane of travel, police said. An investigation conducted by the arresting officer revealed that Zhinin was intoxicated at the time of the stop.
