Former Guidance Counselor From Fairfield Needs Life-Saving Kidney Donation FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- A former high school guidance counselor from Fairfield needs a kidney soon to replace her failing two. Margaret Karbovanec has an inherited condition known as polycystic kidney disease. She recently started a Facebook page and website to appeal to the public for help finding a live donor. Meanwhile, Karbovanec continues to be on two deceased donor lists, one at Yale-New Haven Hospital and one at New York Presbyterian. Stamford Native Reels-Out Comedy At Tribeca Film Festival FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — The 16th Annual Tribeca Film Festival next month will include the work of two filmmakers from Fairfield County. Take A Trot Through The Zoo As Beardsley Hosts First-Ever 5K BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The first-ever 5K with a course through the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport will be held Sunday, April 2. Greenwich Keeps In The Spirit Of St. Patrick's With Sunday Parade GREENWICH, Conn. — Everybody's still Irish on Sunday, when the Greenwich St. Patrick's Day parade hits the streets at 2 p.m. The Hibernian Association is gearing up for the parade — in rain or snow —although they are hoping for sunshine. Chase Away Hunger At Monroe 10K, But No Running Please MONROE, Conn. — There's a 10K in Monroe — but no training is required. The 10K stands for 10,000 meals. That''s how many meals the Monroe Rotary Club will provide in the "Feed the Hungry 10K No Run - No Foolin' Event." The daylong initiative — scheduled for April 1— calls upon volunteers to package up the ingredients to make macaroni and cheese meals. The goal is to pack up 10,000 servings total.
