These Fairfield County Locales Rank Among State's Safest Places Ridgefield was named Connecticut's safest city in an annual Safest Cities report posted by home security provider Safewise.com.  Ridgefield topped the list In Connecticut's 20 Safest Cities of 2019 report for not having violent crime, said the post. Safewise.com also said Connecticut is far under the average for the county in violent and property crimes and that just two reported murders happened in the top 20 cities on the list.
