He was the husband of Patricia (Gainer) Smith.  A resident of Danbury for the past 19 years, Smith was born in Norwalk on March 14, 1932, son of the late Capt. John and Amy (Selleck) Smith. Do You Know This Bird? Stray Parakeet Found In Westchester A stray parakeet found in Westchester is now being cared for at the New Rochelle Humane Society. The bird, a fluffy white budgie, was found on Irenhyl Avenue in Rye and taken to the Rye Brook Police Department Monday afternoon, June 10. Rye Police said on Tuesday, June 11 that the bird was in the possession of the shelter. Anyone who thinks they recognize the parakeet may call  914-632-2925. Greenwich Police say that on Thursday, June 6 at 12:28 a.m., a vehicle traveling on Interstate 95 in Greenwich was observed with high beam headlights on failing to turn them off to passing motorists. According to Suffolk County Police, a woman entered Speedway gas station at 440 Portion Road showed what appeared to be a handgun and demanded cash from an employee at the counter at approximately 11 p.m. Monday, June 10.
