Loretta Lambert, Former Greenwich Academy Teacher, Dies
A former Greenwich resident who taught at Greenwich Academy for 25 years has died.
Loretta "Lorry" Margaret Riley Lambert died in White River Junction, Vermont, on Tuesday, June 4.
She was born in Jackson, Michigan, on May 4, 1931. A graduate of St. Mary's High School in Jackson she received an AB from St. Mary's College, South Bend, Indiana, in 1953.
While attending college in South Bend, she met John "Jack" F. Lambert from Darien who was attending the University of Notre Dame across the street. They married in 1953.

Memorial services have been set for the Garden City former high school lacrosse player who was killed in a car accident.
Sabrina Milone, 21, of Garden City, was killed around 9 p.m., Saturday, June 8, in a single-vehicle crash on Route 495 in Amesbury, Massachusets, said the Massachusetts State Police.
There will be a visitation on Friday, June 14 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Fairchild Sons Funeral Home, 1201 Franklin Ave., Garden City.

East Patchogue's Daniel Murphy, Engineers Union Official, Ex-ahrc Board Member
A U.S. Army veteran and former International Union of Operating Engineers official, Daniel J. Murphy, of East Patchogue, has died.
Murphy died Thursday, June 6 at age 80.
He was a member of IOUE Local 15 where he was employed as a vice president and business agent. Murphy was also a board member of AHRC.
He was the husband of Virginia; father of Daniel, Scott, and Tracy; stepfather of Jennifer and Michelle and had many grandchildren.

Man Charged In Burglary At Hempstead Market Threw Kitchen Knives At Store Employees, Police Say
A Hempstead man who allegedly threw kitchen knives at employees of a Hempstead market during a burglary has been arrested, according to police.
In the alleged incident on Wednesday, June 12 at 11:36 a.m., while inside Jerusalem Fresh Market, 415 Jerusalem Ave., Uzoechi Jibuike, 49, of 3 Searing St., took a packaged phone charger from a display and attempted to use it before paying for it, Nassau County Police said.
Store employees confronted him and advised him he needed to pay for the item, police said.

Man Found Murdered In Dix Hills, Police Say
An elderly man believed to have been murdered in his Dix Hills home Tuesday evening, June 11, according to Suffolk County Police.
The man, 74, who was found dead in his residence at 22 Penn Drive in Dix Hills at approximately 6:15 p.m.
The man, Armindo Reis, lived alone in the residence, according to police.
When neighbors could not get in contact with him on Tuesday, they called his son, police said.
