Officers Injured After Being Intentionally Struck By Man Pulled Over On William Floyd Parkway Two police officers were injured after allegedly being intentionally struck by a man pulled over on the William Floyd Parkway, according to Suffolk County Police. It happened Thursday, June 20 at approximately 6:25 p.m. during a traffic stop by police south of Yaphank Commons Drive in Ridge, police said. Robert McDowell was reportedly driving a 2002 Ford van southbound on Smith Road when officers from the Seventh Precinct initiated a traffic stop near Strathmore Ridge Drive at 6:25 p.m., according to police. LaDelfa died Sunday, June 10 at Danbury Hospital. He was born Aug. 26, 1987 in Danbury to Pam LaDelfa and Ken Carpenter. LaDelfa attended Ridgefield schools and was a graduate of Ridgefield High School with the Class of 2005.  He enlisted in the U.S. Army upon graduation and served a 15-month tour in Iraq from 2007 to 2009.
