Yonker Police Ready To Train Civilian Emergency- Response Team YONKERS, N.Y. -- Citizen volunteers interested in becoming part of the city's Community Emergency Response team (C.E.R.T.) may begn their free training Sunday, Oct. 5.Training is provided through the Yonkers Police Department Office of Emergency Management. LED Street Lights Expected To Save Clarkstown Thousands In Budget CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- The lighting is about to get brighter in Clarkstown where the Town Board entered into an agreement with the New York Power Authority to purchase LED street lighting. Clarkstown is in the process of buying 3,880 of its street lights, which are currently owned by Orange and Rockland Utilities for $670,000.
