Frost Advisory In Effect For Putnam Dutchess and Putnam residents will want to protect their plants with a frost advisory in effect for overnight into Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service. The advisory means widespread frost is expected from midnight tonight to 9 a.m. Tuesday. The frost could potentially damage sensitive plants and crops so precautionary measure are advised. Grant Helps Yonkers Youths Get Into And Thrive In College YONKERS, N.Y. -- City students of low-income backgrounds, from 11th grade to college graduation, will get help from a Yonkers Partners In Education of Westchester grant.The $100,000 from the Westchester Community Foundation will fund the YPIE Fellows Program, according to an announcement. Pleasantville Church Could Be Added To National Register Of Historic Places PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- St. John’s Episcopal Church in Pleasantville has been recommended by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to be included in the National Registers of Historic Places, according to The Examiner. Garnerville Fourth-Grade Teacher Receives Chromebook Shipment GARNERVILLE, N.Y. -- The first shipment of laptops has arrived in the Bronx classroom of Garnerville resident Rosemary Garabito. The fourth grade teacher at PS 9 Ryer Elementary School started a fundraiser over the summer with the goal of equipping all her students with a Chromebook.
