Judge Finds Stamford Woman Guilty Of Stealing From Grandmother STAMFORD, CONN. -- A judge found a Stamford woman guilty of first-degree larceny for taking at least $20,000 from her grandmother and putting it in her personal and business bank accounts, according to the Stamford Advocate.Judge Gary White rendered the decision Thursday, and ordered Heather Gansel, 38, to return for sentencing in January, when she faces a maximum of 20 years in prison, the Stamford Advocate said. Smith announced recently that several motorists face charges after four traffic stops by officers in Putnam Valley. At 10:45 p.m., on Oct. 15, Deputy Sheriff Thomas Varbero stopped Richard Lenox, 25, of 48 Lake Way, Lake Peekskill, for a traffic violation on Oscawana Lake Road in Putnam Valley. The deputy found that Lenox had a suspended license. Lenox was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, a misdemeanor. Church Lane In Westport To Close Temporarily WESTPORT, CONN. -- In an effort to minimize disruption, Westport town officials approved early morning construction Thursday, which temporarily will close Church Lane in Bedford Square.The concrete pouring will start at 6 a.m., officials said, on Church Lane from Elm Street to Post Road East.
