Westchester County Closes Pedestrian Bridge Over Hutch For Repairs WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N. Y. -- Westchester County parks officials closed an aging pedestrian bridge over the Huchinson River near Pelham for repairs, according to lohud.com.The bridge off First Avenue, which allows walkers to cross the river to a path leading to Willson's Woods Park, is expected to be reopened in early 2016, lohud.com said. Yonkers Police Investigate Shooting At Cottage Gardens YONKERS, N. Y. -- Yonkers police are seeking the public's help in finding those responsible for a Saturday shooting that injured a 16-year-old Bronx youth.After receiving the call of shots fired at 2:21 p.m., Saturday, along Cottage Gardens, they found the young man with a gunshot wound in the 200 block of North Broadway, police said. He underwent surgery at a local trauma center for non-life threatening injuries, police said. Sinkhole Closes Part Of Marble Avenue In Pleasantville PLEASANTVILLE, N. Y. -- Marble Avenue between Irvington Street and Sunnyside Avenue in Pleasantville is closed Monday as workers repair damage from a sinkhole and water main break. Public works officials said Marble Avenue will be closed throughout the day Monday and may reopen Tuesday, lohud.com said. The problem was discovered late Sunday after residents complained about low water pressure, lohud.com reported. Stamford Police Roll Out New Crime Scene Van STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Stamford Police Department has a new crime scene van police said will allow investigators to work more efficiently on the 100-plus crime scenes the department handles annually.The 2015 Ford Van replaces a 1991 Dodge van the department has used for years. Sacred Heart University To Buy Milford Golf Club For $6 Million FAIRFIELD, CONN. -- Sacred Heart University officials have plans to add a golf management program to the educational offerings with the $6 million purchase of a golf course in nearby Milford.Officials recently announced plans to acquire the 150-acre, 18-hole Great River Golf Course and 32,000-square-foot clubhouse along the Housatonic River in Milford. Fatal Car Crash In Millbrook Leaves Two Children Injured MILLBROOK, N. Y. -- A head-on collision Saturday morning between a car and a dump truck along Route 44 in Washington claimed the life of the car's driver and injured two young children who were passengers.Dutchess County Sheriff's officials, who are investigating, said it appears the car, which was traveling south, crossed into the truck's lane along Route 44 at Bontecou Road at around 9 a.m. The two children were flown to Westchester Medical Center.
