Ceramic Classes For Kids In Wayne Township WAYNE TOWNSHIP, N.J. -- Winter ceramics for kids is being offered by Wayne Township's parks and recreation department starting Jan. 30.Open to children in grades 1 and up, the class is 10 weeks. It will be most Saturdays through April 30 at Kilroy Park, 6 Concord Place.  Two classes will be offered, 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Paints and firing are part of the $15 registration fee.  Supply kits for $10, including brushes, cleaning tool and sponge will be available. J. -- Ninety-five families at St. Leo's School in Elmwood Park signed up to join the Kinsa FLUency program for earlier detection of the flu.St. Leo's was one of only 50 schools selected nationwide to participate in the special health program using an FDA-approved smart phone app as a thermometer, school officials said. At least 850 schools nationwide applied for the program. Pleasantville Student Donates More Than 1,700 Books To Ossining Clinic PLEASANTVILLE, N. Y. -- Pleasantville Middle School eighth-grader Zach Lyons collected more than 1,700 books to donate to young readers.As a community service project, he donated the books to the Open Door Family Medical Center in Ossining for its Reach Out and Read program. The books will be used to help make the clinic waiting room inviting for young readers and their families, medical center officials said. Reach Out and Read is a Boston-based nonprofit that works with medical providers to make books available to families waiting for services.
