Getting answers to those questions, along with some redecorating of the famous mansion, has delayed the planned Tuesday auction. The auction, handled by Guernsey's, was postponed, NJ.com reported. Born April 13, 1917, to the late Rev. Dr. John C. Spring and Estella Conaway Spring in Steubenville, Ohio, he went on to get a degree in history and political science from Wooster College in Ohio. He moved to Dumont and Englewood, N.J., where he became a machinist apprentice, then worked for Alcoa Corp. in Edgewater for 35 years. First Day Of Black Bear Hunting Season Nets 216 Bears Black bear hunting season got under way Monday in northern New Jersey, and state officials report that a total of 216 bears were killed, with close to half of that number coming from Sussex County, according to NJ.com. Monday's total was not far off the total 272 animals hunted last season. J. -- Hackensack Police Chief Ken Zisa has filed a notice of intent to sue to get his job back, according to NJ.com.Zisa plans to sue the city and the Bergen County Prosecutors Office for $35 million after an appeals court this past summer threw out fraud and misconduct convictions against him, along with the order removing him as police chief, NJ.com said.
