Sonia Rogers ordered the closure of a retail establishment, threatened to fine the owners, and requested bribes of cash and free store merchandise in exchange for reopening the store and not levying the threatened fines, Attorney General Matthew Platkin said. Gunman Dies By Suicide After Shooting Woman In Linden, Cops Say A woman is in critical condition and the suspect is dead following a shooting in Linden on Monday, Aug. 18, authorities said. At 10:15 a.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Carnegie Street and located a woman with a gunshot wound, Linden police said.  The suspect fled from the scene and barricaded himself inside of a nearby home, police said. On Monday, Aug. 11, Cash Reggi was riding his E-bike to meet his sister at Linwood Park. While there he turned onto a bike path going too fast, causing him to crash, throwing him face first onto the pavement, Rebecca Sharra, who organized the fundraiser said. Man Killed After Struck By Train In Cranford: NJ Transit A man was fatally struck by a train in Cranford Tuesday morning, Aug. 19, authorities said. At 1:44 a.m.,  Raritan Valley Line train 5403, which departed Newark Penn Station at 1:28 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Raritan at 2:34 a.m., struck and fatally injured the man east Cranford Station, NJ Transit said. There were no injuries to the approximately 25 customers and crew on board, NJ Transit said. Customers were evacuated and put on a bus, NJ Transit said. The incident remains under investigation, NJ Transit said.

Man Dies After Being Pulled From Pool: Colts Neck PD A 77-year-old man died after he was pulled from a swimming pool on Saturday, April 16, authorities said. At 12:30 p.m., officers and EMS responded to a residence in Colts Neck and found an unconscious man in a swimming pool, Colts Neck police said. Emergency personnel promptly initiated life-saving measures, and the man, who was not identified by police was transported to Bayshore Medical Center for further medical treatment, police said. Man Airlifted After Falling From Viaduct In Knowlton Twp: Njsp A man had to be airlifted to a hospital after falling from a viaduct in Warren County on Sunday, Aug. 17, authorities said. Troopers responded to the Knowlton Viaduct at 2:09 p.m. after the man fell and sustained moderate injuries, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.
