Astorino Honors Students Who Accepted ACE Challenge At Rye Playland RYE, N.Y. -- Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino honored students Tuesday afternoon who met an academic challenge he issued last fall to Westchester County students grades six through 12. The Astorino Challenge in education, or ACE, offered a free season pass to Playland to students who signed up at the beginning of the school year and achieved one of the following benchmarks – a final GPA of at least 3.8, 95%, or perfect attendance for the entire school year. Atlantic League All-Stars Shine At Block Party In Bridgeport BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — The 2015 Atlantic League All-Star festivities kicked off Tuesday evening, as the Bluefish shut down a portion of Fairfield Avenue in downtown Bridgeport to host a block party. Live music and food was available, and All-Star players and Atlantic League team mascots were in attendance. Westchester Celebrates July 4 With Kensico Dam Music, Fireworks Fest VALHALLA, N.Y. - It seemed like most of Westchester County was at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla Friday evening, celebrating the Fourth of July at the annual music and fireworks festival. Festival goers were treated to piped in music starting at 6 p.m., and one of the area's most impressive fireworks displays thrilled the audience, with the Gerard Carelli Orchestra playing in the background. Plenty of food and refreshments were available, and there were areas for kids to play on the expansive site. Many families brought their own picnics.

Darien Turns Out In Red, White And Blue For Push-n-pull Parade DARIEN, Conn. — The Darien VFW hosted the 11th annual July 4the Push-N-Pull Parade Saturday morning, featuring children riding bikes, scooters, wagons, and non-motorized vehicles and dressed in the most patriotic red, white and blue. The parade traveled down the Post Road and ended at Tilley Pond Park, where food vendors and live entertainment awaited the crowd.
