Yorktown Wins Northern Westchester Swim Conference D-1 Diving Title SHRUB OAK, N.Y. - The Northern Westchester Swim Conference held its Division 1 Diving Championships Wednesday at the Yorktown/Shrub Oak Pool. Yorktown took first, edging Cortlandt, 21-20. Briarcliff (15) was third, Willowbrook fourth, Chappaqua fifth and Birchwood sixth. Larchmont Hosts Long Island Sound Swim Across America To Fight Cancer LARCHMONT, N.Y. - The Larchmont Shore Club and the Larchmont Yacht Club hosted a Swim Across America event on Saturday, aimed at raising money to fight cancer. The SAA event was founded in 1987 as Swim Across Long Island Sound, and has grown into 13 swims in five states -- including a 22-mile marathon. At Saturday's event, swimmers competed individually, or as a part of a team, and had a choice of 2K, 5K or 10K distances. Kayakers, boaters and off-site swimmers also raised money for the cause. Chappaqua Makes Splash In Northern Westchester Swim Conference CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. - The Cortlandt swim team visited the Chappaqua Swim & Dive team Saturday morning in a Northern Westchester Swim Conference meet at the Chappaqua Swim & Tennis Club, and it was Chappaqua that came out on top. Despite the loss, Cortlandt coach Nikki Segnit said her team gave a great effort. "There were lots of great swims by many of our swimmers," Segnit said. "The Cortlandt team continued to swim with great athleticism, passion, and good sportsmanship."

The 1,000-foot-long water slide  — longer than three football fields — took riders from Hoyt Street to Latham Park.
