Norwalk Prepares To Bid Farewell To Retired Police Lt. Timothy Murphy NORWALK, Conn. — Two communities will say goodbye to Timothy Murphy, whose life will be celebrated in a Mass of Christian burial on Saturday.  Murphy, who died Jan. 29 at age 55 of cancer, was raised in New Canaan. He then served as a lieutenant with the Norwalk Police Department, where he had a 33-year career.  Just days after retiring last spring, Murphy was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Dutchess Powers John Jay, Lourdes Square Off In Basketball Thriller EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. -- Two of the section's best girls basketball teams locked horns Thursday night in East Fishkill, as the Our Lady of Lourdes and John Jay High School teams met to do their dance on the hardwood, playing their game after a brief ceremony honoring John Jay's seniors. John Jay prevailed in this one, claiming a 59-54 victory to improve its season record to 14-6. Alana Kroner led the Patriots with 21 points, and Sam Burgess added 14. Our Lady of Lourdes fell to 13-6 with the loss. Maddy Siegrist scored 26 points for the Warriors, and Katie Clarke added 17 points.

Brewster, Pawling Heat It Up In Ice Hockey PAWLING, N.Y. - The Pawling High ice hockey team welcomed a hot Brewster team Thursday afternoon, as the two teams mixed it up on the ice at Trinity-Pawling's Tirrell Ice Rink. At the end of the day, it was Brewster that continued its strong play this season, walking off with a 6-4 win that lifted their season mark to 15-2-1.
