Severe Weather, Tornado Warning, Hail, Rain Down On Dutchess Severe weather hit Putnam and Dutchess counties and the surrounding area Friday afternoon, with reports of a possible tornado in Red Oaks Mill that did not materialize. Heavy rain and winds did blow through during the late afternoon hours, causing flooding to many area roads, and large hail fell in parts of the Dutchess as well. Numerous downed trees and wires were reported in the City of Poughkeepsie. Approximately 500 customers lost power in Dutchess, mainly in the City of Poughkeepsie.
