Regulars At Michael's Tavern Saddened To Hear Of Closures PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - Daily Voice dropped in at Michael's Old Village Tavern in Pleasantville for the last night for the much-beloved area hot spot before it, and two sister restaurants - McArthur's American Grille on Washington Avenue and Oliver's in Katonah - closed their doors. It seemed like the entire crowd in the popular family restaurant/bar was buzzing about the news, and no one was happy. Al three are owned and operated by Doug Crossett of Katonah. Dutchess Savours History At 114th Declaration Of Independence Reading FISHKILL, N.Y. - The Village of Fishkill held its 114th annual Declaration of Independence reading on a hot, sunny Monday morning, with a large crowd gathering in front of Van Wyck Hall to soak in the history. Chairman of the Dutchess County Legislature Dale Borchert handled the reading, in front of an appreciative crowd. Fire Causes Damage At Popular Area Club Owned by Singer Daryl Hall This story has been updated. PAWLING, N.Y. -- An early morning fire at Daryl's House Club in Pawling has been contained, according to authorities and multiple reports. Multiple fire departments -- including Pawling FD and the Patterson FD -- responded to reports of a fire that reportedly started in the front of the building shortly after 4 a.m. Monday. The two-alarm fire, which was caused by an electrical issue with the exterior lighting, was quickly contained within 20 minutes and damage to the structure was limited as a result, according to wpdh.com. Dutchess Celebrates Independence Day With Riverside Celebration POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - It seemed like most of Dutchess County was on the Poughkeepsie waterfront Saturday night, as the city celebrated the Fourth of July with lots of activities prior to the night's highlight - a fireworks display near the Mid Hudson Bridge. Two of the area's more popular restaurants - both with riverfront views - were packed, as those lucky enough to get a table were able to grab a bite and watch the fireworks at Shadows on the Hudson or the Poughkeepsie Ice House on the Hudson. Hyde Park's FDR Library Celebrates 75th Anniversary HYDE PARK, N.Y. - The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum has been throwing a presidential bash the last few days in celebration of its 75th anniversary, which fell on Thursday. The popular destination had special events planned through Saturday. Located near Roosevelt's home in Hyde Park, the library was built under his personal direction in 1939-1940. Area Residents Swarm To Ossining Waterfront For Fireworks Celebration OSSINING, N.Y. - Ossining held its annual Fourth of July fireworks display Thursday night, with huge crowds finding their way to Louis Engel Park, where they lined the waterfront on a beautiful summer night. Various Ossining restaurants were represented by food trucks, live musical entertainment was provided, and the crowd ooohed and ahhhed at the impressive fireworks display that capped the evening.

Fireworks Display Lights Up Night Sky On Poughkeepsie's Walkway Over Hudson POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Poughkeepsie's Fourth of July celebration was capped off with a lengthy fireworks display over the Hudson River. Crowds gathered at Poughkeepsie's Waryas Park, viewing the spectacle from Walkway Over the Hudson is always a hot ticket, and more crowds filled the riverfront walkway from Shadows on the Hudson to the Children's Museum. There was live music at Waryas, a small carnival kept kids happy prior to the fireworks, a skateboard park was open, and many families settled in along the riverfront with picnic baskets and blankets.

Tappan Zee Senior Class Takes Ceremonial Walk At 2016 Commencement ORANGEBURG, N.Y. - Tappan Zee High School celebrated the Class of 2016 Thursday evening at the school's 113th commencement ceremony, held outside on the school's athletic field. Principal Dr. Jennifer L. Amos gave opening remarks, Alice Tao was Salutatorian, and Alexander Li was class Valedictorian. Amos presented diplomas to the Class of 2016.
