Aida A. Moroney, 80, Of Emerson EMERSON, N.J. -- Aida A. Moroney of Emerson, formerly of New Milford, died at her home on Wednesday, Sept. 2.Maroney is survived by her son Thomas Maroney, Jr. and daughter, Maria Walsh; and her sister Anna O'Connor.  Maroney was predeceased by her siblings Saverio Verni, Fantina Orosz, Rose Pollock and John Verni. Her funeral service was held on Saturday, Sept. 5 at Assumption Roman Catholic Church of Emerson at 29 Jefferson Ave., Emerson. Interment followed at Calvary Cemetery, Queens.

She later graduated from Manhattan School of Music in 2006 and attended Montclair State University for a Master of Music degree. THS Animal Appreciation Club Help with Community Pet Adoption in Ridgewood RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- On Sunday, members of the THS (Teaneck High School) Animal Appreciation Club volunteered with Companion Animal Advocates (CAA) at the 10th Annual Adopt A Pet event, which was held at Ridgewood Veterinary Hospital on 320 E Ridgewood Ave., Ridgewood. The students helped three cats get adopted and distributed flyers for CAA’s upcoming event “Carnivale of the Dogs," which is scheduled for October 18. The students also helped raise $278 in donations, sold $90 worth of TV raffle tickets and set up eight new TD Bank Affinity Program sign-ups.
