Learn Apple Cider Making At Tenafly Nature Center TENAFLY, N.J. -- Apple cider making will take place from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Tenafly Nature Center. The center also will have a second session from 2-3 p.m. Sunday. Experience the taste of fresh, crisp apple cider. Participants will use an apple press, help make some cider and learn about the history of apple cultivation and cider making. Richard Johansen, 76, Of Rutherford RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Richard Johansen, of Rutherford, passed away Friday, Sept. 18 at Green Acres Care Center in Toms River. He was 76.He was born in Jersey City to the late Thoralf and Margaret Johansen. Johansen served in the U.S. Army and was a resident of Rutherford for 45 years. He owned and operated Johansen Book Bindery Company in Hoboken and North Bergen for many years. Johansen is survived by his brother Walter and his wife Beverly, his niece Carol Kuntz and her husband Bill. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst.

Norwalk Transit District Rolled Out New Buses Today NORWALK, Conn. -- Mayor Harry Rilling joined the Commissioners of the Norwalk Transit District on Thursday as a new fleet of vehicles slated for Norwalk’s Commuter Rail Shuttle services were introduced. The Transit District recently purchased twelve, twenty-nine foot, low floor shuttle vehicles. The vehicles were manufactured by the Gillig Corporation in Hayward, Calif.. Production of the vehicles began in August and their 3,000 mile journey across the country to the Transit District facility was recently completed. The unit cost for the vehicles is $391,943.
