Irvington Students Learn About Food Production In Stone Barns Center Visit IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- Fourth-graders from Main Street School in Irvington visited the Stone Barns Center in Pocantico Hills this week for their first of three visits this year. They investigated food production on the farm, which grows hundreds of varieties of fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs year-round. The students were involved with a variety of organized hands-on farm chores to provide them with perspective on how people interact with their environment.  They examined the relationship between farm life and how the harvested food becomes the food we consume. Irvington School District Welcomes New Families At Annual Breakfast IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- School students and their parents who are new to the Irvington school district were welcomed at the annual breakfast for new families on Friday, Sept. 25.Families enjoyed pastries and bagels and had a chance to meet their school counselors, Principal David Sottile, Assistant Principal Allyson Daley and representatives from the PTSA. Members of the school’s Big Buddies group were also on hand to meet the new students and tell them about their new home at the middle school.
