Port Chester Appoints David Thomas Village Clerk
PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Port Chester resident David Thomas has been appointed clerk for the Village of Port Chester. His appointment, by a unanimous vote, was made during a Village Board of Trustees meeting earlier this month.Port Chester has been without a clerk since the summer when Janusz Richards resigned. Assistant Village Clerk Vita Sileo has been filling in. Eager to get the office of the clerk back to normal, Thomas was sworn in on Nov. 3, by Sileo and Rye Town Clerk Hope Vespia. Putnam Humane Society Cuts Cat Adoption Fees During Three-Day Event
CARMEL, N.Y. -- The Putnam Humane Society in Carmel will hold its "Thankful for a Home" cat-adoption event from Friday through Sunday.During this period, adoption fees for all cats and kittens will be reduced by 50 percent. Adoption applications must be approved between Nov. 27-29 to be eligible. Yonkers Police Release Info On Fatal Accident Involving Stolen Vehicle
YONKERS, N.Y. -- Yonkers Police have released information on an accident Monday in which one person was killed and two others injured. At approximately 4:16 p.m. Monday, the Yonkers Police Department Communications Division received a call from a resident relating that a suspicious van was in the area of 4 Schroeder St. The occupants of the van were allegedly attempting to break into a parking meter. BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- The Concordia College softball team will open its 2016 schedule in Clermont, Fla., head coach Kathy Laoutaris announced.Laoutaris, who enters her 22nd season at the helm of the squad, has 12 home games in her 34-game schedule.
