Trefz of Trumbull, a longtime member of the University of Bridgeport's Board of Trustees and the owner of 44 McDonald's restaurant in the area, died Saturday, Feb. 25. He was 84. Runaway Tractor-Trailer Crashes After Rolling From Darien I-95 Rest Area STAMFORD, Conn. — A runaway tractor-trailer caused a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 on the Darien-Stamford border Monday afternoon, sending one person to the hospital, according to Connecticut State Police. State Police out of Troop G in Bridgeport responded at 1:58 p.m. to the accident scene. 2 Finalists Chosen For Superintendent Of Schools In Bridgeport BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport Schools Interim Superintendent Aresta Johnson and Agnella Katrise Perera are in the running for the post of schools superintendent, according to the Connecticut Post. New Fairfield High School Teacher Who Zip-Tied Student Resigns NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn --A teacher at New Fairfield Middle School who restrained a student using zip-ties has submitted a resignation, according to the News-Times. The math teacher of seventh-graders used the zip-ties like handcuffs so a student could be confined to a desk, school officials told the News-Times.
