Work Continues On Route 111 Bridge Project In Monroe MONROE, Conn. — Stage two of a full bridge replacement project on Route 111 in Monroe should be underway in November, according to the contractor, First Selectman Steve Vavrek said in an update. The project manager is waiting for the utility companies to complete their work, according to Vavrek.  The construction of the bridge near Ryegate Terrace that carries Route 111 over an unnamed brook will be done in two stages, Varek said when it began back in April. Four Briarcliff Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. -- Briarcliff High School has four National Merit Semifinalists out of 16,000 nationwide.Seniors, Megan Ho, Samantha Manimala, Alexandra Schoepke and Sophie Underwood earned this recognition in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship competition.  The students are among one percent of United States high school seniors who are continuing in the competition for 7,500 National Merit Scholarships. The  2016 Fairfield Police Department Custom Throw 48-by-68-inch blanket is on sale for $40.
