Phyllis Luanne Nyman, 63, Of Rochelle Park ROCHELLE PARK, N.J. -- Phyllis Luanne Nyman, of Rochelle Park, died Nov. 11. She was 63. Nyman worked as nurse's aide for more than 15 years. She was predeceased by her father, John Martello. Surivors are her mother, Lucy Marro; siblings, Frances Houlday (Chris), Janis Martello, Louise Vittorio (Joseph), Teresa Martello and MaryAnn Martello. East Rutherford Rallies For 'Coach Cupcake' Following House Fire RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- A beloved staff co-workers affectionately call, "Coach Cupcake" at Meadowlands Gymnastic and his family returned home Halloween to find the house they rent was badly damaged in a fire. Meadowlands staff established a GoFundMe page for the family. The fire may have resulted from faulty manufacturing or wiring, according to information on the page. Energy Grant Brings Savings To Easton's Gilberties Herb Gardens EASTON, Conn. -- An organic farm in Easton is among four Connecticut farms that have received energy grants to save on the cost of electricity. The USDA Rural Energy for America grants went to Gilberties Herb Gardens, a commercial organic farm in Easton, and Howling Flats Farm family-run animal farm in North Canaan. Ready, Set, Expect Delays During New Fairfield's Turkey Run NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The 32nd Annual Turkey Run is set for Sunday, Nov. 20, in New Fairfield.Local residents are advised to expect delays on Gillotti Road, from 8 to 11 a.m., according to New Fairfield Fire Police. Pocantico Students Travel The Globe Without Leaving The Classroom MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- The world got a lot smaller for the students of Pocantico Hills School at Geography Night recently with teachers and families participating in the event. Darien Man Accused Of Trying To Abduct Former Girlfriend In Stratford STRATFORD, Conn. -- A man from Darien was detained on $250,000 bond on charges of attempting to abduct his ex-girlfriend on Tuesday in Stratford, according to the Connecticut Post. The woman's vehicle was reportedly set afire by 29-year-old Pedro Oristanio when the attempted abduction was a failure, Capt. Frank Eannotti told the Connecticut Post. Oristanio was arrested later in New Canaan and charged with second-degree arson, attempted kidnapping, unlawful restraint, criminal mischief and threatening, the Connecticut Post said. Felician University Hacker Blasts Racist E-mail RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The housing director at Felician University is not the one who sent a racist e-mail from her account this summer, the university has found, according to NorthJersey.com.
