Olympic Gold Medal Swimmers Dive In With Clinic For Darien Y Piranhas DARIEN, Conn. -- Olympic gold medal swimmers ran an in-pool clinic for the Darien Y Piranhas swim team at the YMCA recently. Maya DiRado and Josh Davis also signed autographs and answered questions for the young athletes. They led swim drills with a grand finale race against team members across the pool. New Canaan House Fire Extinguished NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- A fire at an empty River Street residence that was being renovated was knocked out by firefighters Friday, according to the New Canaan Advertiser. There were no injuries from the fire that broke out in a wall of the duplex, fire officials told the New Canaan Advertiser. The attic of the home filled up with smoke. Greater Bridgeport Symphony Celebrates Leonard Bernstein's 99th Birthday BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein would have been 99 this year, so the Greater Bridgeport Symphony will celebrate his music with "Bernstein at 99!" in a concert on Saturday, March 18, at the Klein Memorial Auditorium. Greenwich Teen To Represent USA At Prestigious Ski Race GREENWICH, Conn. -- A teenager from Old Greenwich will represent the United States at a prestigious ski race in Vermont. Olivia Holm, 15, will complete at L'Alpe Cimbra FIS Children Cup March 6 to 11 in Tarvisio, Italy. The cup, formerly known as Trofeo Topolino, is a historic and premier European ski competition for children. Teams from across the globe are represented. The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association will send six U16 ski racers (three girls and three boys). Past racers at the cup include Mikaela Shiffrin, Lindsey Vonn, and Picabo Street.
