Western Mass Man Admits To Sexually Assaulting Child At His Home, Gets 2 Years: DA A 68-year-old Berkshire County man has pleaded to multiple counts of indecent assault on a child younger than 14 years old, authorities announced on Tuesday, Feb. 20.  Lochan Kissoon, of Pittsfield, was sentenced to two years in prison for sexually assaulting a minor in his apartment in June 2021, the Berkshire County District Attorney said.  Kissoon cannot have contact with anyone under the age of 16, and he must register as a sex offender once he's released, authorities said.

2 Injured In Western Mass Blaze Likely Caused By Oxygen Tank Fire investigators believe a fire that injured two people on Monday, Feb. 19, in Hampden County began from a medical oxygen tank.  Firefighters responded to 68 State St. in Ludlow just before 5:30 p.m. to reports of a fire. Central Mass Woman ID'd As Victim In Fatal New Hampshire Snowmobile Crash Police have identified a woman killed in a New Hampshire snowmobile crash as a 39-year-old North Brookfield resident.  Shawnee Hollis died after the snowmobile she was on crashed into a tree in the town of Milan, New Hampshire, at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, New Hampshire state officials said. Skeletal Remains Found In Saugus Woods Police are investigating after human remains were found by someone walking their dog in Saugus Sunday morning, Feb. 18.  The discovery happened in the woods off David Drive just before 10 a.m. The skeletal remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine how they died and to identify them.  Police say they do not believe there is any risk to the public.  The Essex County District Attorney's Office did not release any other information about the discovery.
