Norwalk Woman Accused Of Stealing From Cars In Westport
WESTPORT, Conn. -- A 40-year-old Norwalk woman is facing burglary and larceny charges after Fairfield police discovered several GPS units and other items in her car while investigating a minor crash, and determined the units had been taken from parked cars Saugatuck Elementary School in Westport, police said. Jessica Sullivan is being held on $5,000 bond charged with third-degree burglary from a motor vehicle and sixth-degree larceny from a motor vehicle, police said. J. -- Bergen County genealogical leaders set about to find five previously undiscovered or unpublished documents and artifacts to put together the 2016 special project titled "Bergen County in Five Objects," which will be presented Monday, Nov. 28, at the Ridgewood Public Library. One Firefighter Injured, Six People Left Homeless By Norwalk Fire
NORWALK, Conn. -- American Red Cross caseworkers are working on meeting the needs of six adults left homeless by a fire Thursday afternoon at a Elmwood Avenue three-story house that The Hour reports left one firefighter injured. The Hour reports that the firefighter's injuries are not life-threatening but he is being treated in the burn unit at Bridgeport Hospital after suffering burns on his back fighting the fire. BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport police are asking for the public's help in identifying the people involved in a shooting Saturday night at a Park Avenue social club in Bridgeport. Police have released a video showing a fight that broke out during a Sweet 16 party at Circolo Sportivo. Five people were treated for minor gunshot wounds as a result of the shooting. Westchester Group Wins Grant For Mamaroneck Preserve Project
MAMARONECK, N. Y. -- Westchester Land Trust officials announced that the agency has been awarded a $55,000 grant for restoration work at Otter Creek Preserve, one of 25 grants to New York and Connecticut community groups for projects to improve the health of Long Island Sound.
