Poughkeepsie Man Sentenced To 3 Years For Drug Sale DUTCHESS COUNTY, N. Y. -- A 28-year-old Poughkeepsie man was sentenced to serve time in prision for criminal sale of a controlled substance, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported.Dutchess County Court Judge Peter Forman sentenced Sergio Carpio, as a second felony offender, to three years prison along with two years supervision after release, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Clarkstown School Officials Oppose New Teacher Evaluation Rules CLARKSTOWN, N. Y. -- Clarkstown Central School District board members went on record with the state earlier this month that they oppose continuing the new teacher evaluation rules. In a letter signed by all seven board of education members, they are urging the New York State Board of Regents to vote against making the temporary teacher evaluation rules permanent. In the Sept. 11 letter, school board members say using current policy of utilizing cut scores and weighting assessments is not an accurate or fair way to evaluate teachers. The EAB -- as the invasive beetle is commonly abbreviated -- is ravaging ash trees across the Eastern United States.
