Would-Be Child Rapist Busted By Undercover Agents In Capital Region, Police Say A 63-year-old man from the region is facing charges after allegedly attempting to meet a child for sex. Rensselaer County resident Hadj Ounis, of Troy, was arrested on multiple sex charges Monday, Jan. 30, following an investigation by New York State Police. Members of the agency’s Computer Crimes Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force determined that Ounis made arrangements and traveled to meet who he believed was a 14-year-old for sex, according to police. New Bed Bath & Beyond Closures Include Yonkers Store Nearly two dozen New York locations are among a new round of scheduled closures announced by struggling home goods retailer Bed Bath & Beyond. Another 87 stores are due to close in 2023, the company announced this week, including 23 locations in New York. Elevated Lead Levels Found In Drinking Water In Capital Region Officials are warning of elevated levels of lead that were found in drinking water in the region. Wanted 19-Year-Old Flashed Gun At Another Car On Long Island, Police Say A 19-year-old man wanted by police is accused of brandishing a gun at another car while driving on Long Island, authorities said. Kyle Gritser, of Hicksville, was arrested at around 12:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, in connection with an incident that occurred roughly an hour before in Bethpage, according to Nassau County Police.
