Man Flees With Cash After Hitting Long Island Bank, Police Say Police are investigating a fourth bank robbery on Long Island in as many days. Group Steals $3K Worth Of Sunglasses From Long Island Business, Police Say Police are working to identify four people accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a Long Island business. The theft occurred Friday, June 30, at the Sunglass Hat in Riverhead, located in the Riverhead Tanger Outlets. Suffolk County Police said three women and a man entered the store at around 2:40 p.m. and made off with approximately $3,000 worth of products. Corrections Officer Smuggled Tobacco, Phone For Hudson Valley Jail Inmates, Police Say A corrections officer has been arrested on multiple felonies after allegedly smuggling in contraband for inmates at a Hudson Valley jail. Ulster County resident Felicia Waithe, age 28, of Kingston, was arrested at home Wednesday, July 12, following an investigation by sheriff’s officials. According to deputies, Waithe worked as a probationary corrections officer at the Ulster County jail in Kingston. Know Them? Vandals Shatter Windows, Damage Property At Former Long Island College The site of a former Long Island college notorious for being targeted by vandals has once again been damaged. Suffolk County Police said a group broke into the Dowling College building in Oakdale, located on Idle Hour Boulevard, sometime between 10:30 p.m. and midnight on Thursday, July 6. 16-Year-Old In Critical Condition After Shooting Near Capital Region Elementary School A teenager is fighting for his life after being shot near an elementary school in the region. The shooting in Rensselaer County happened shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday, July 13, in Troy, near 6th Avenue and Swift Street. Double Homicide: Suspect Sought In Killings Of Husband, Wife In Capital Region Police are asking for the public's help after a married couple was found dead inside their home in the region. In Schenectady County, the bodies of Robert Guillaume, age 73, and Cathy Guillaume, age 65, were found Friday, July 7, inside a Rotterdam home on Fern Avenue, one block east of the Rotterdam Industrial Park.
