The event, the Terry Conners Synchro Open, is co-hosted by the Southern Connecticut Skating Club and the Southern Connecticut Synchronized Skating Parents Organization. Wake For Couple Killed In Westchester Plane Crash Held In Ridgefield RIDGEFIELD, Conn.. -- A wake was held for the couple killed in a November plane crash in Northern Westchester on Wednesday at the Kane Funeral Home in Ridgefield. The couple -- Val and Taew Horsa of South Salem -- died Nov. 19 when the plane piloted by Val crashed into the Titicus Reservoir in North Salem. Val was 76. Taew was 66. They founded and ran the Bangkok Thai restaurant in Danbury. They started it in 1986, when Thai food was rare in Connecticut. Taew was the head chef. Local Teams Advance At Section 1 Dual-Meet Wrestling Championships MONTROSE, N.Y. - High school wrestling teams from Pearl River, Nanuet, Croton and Hendrick Hudson all competed Thursday at the Section 1 Dual-Meet Championships at Hendrick Hudson High School in Montrose. In the D2, Small Schools category, Pearl River was the winner of the day, winning the quad and advancing to next Thursday's championship round, which will be at Pearl River HS, since the Pirates were the top seed. In Thursday's round at Hen Hud, Pearl River beat Nanuet (69-12) and Croton. Hen Hud lost to Nanuet (45-39), and beat Croton (66-18).
